What makes a person successful is not what people usually think. Having a lot of money, fancy houses and cars, or even tons of fame doesn't make you successful. These things happen as the
result of being successful, and do not lead to success themselves. What makes a person truly successful, is having a valuable service or product to offer people, and having the mindset of a successful person.
The secret that all successful people know, is that when you achieve the proper
mindset of a successful person, all else will follow. So how do we position ourselves to be in the top 5% of the population, and to directly make a difference in our lives? It turns out there are specific steps that every successful person takes before making a name for themselves. The following is a list of these steps that will help you acquire the mindset of a millionaire.
1. Define Your Future
Every person who has achieved something great has done it because they knew what they wanted. If you don't know what you're looking for, then no one will be able to help you search for it, and all you'll be left with are doubts and longing. Go create a clear vision of what goal and purpose you see for yourself in the future. Write it down everyday for 30 days, or until it sticks, and if you miss a day, start over. I'm not talking about superficial things, like having a million dollars or a new fancy car. Get specific about what you want and where you'll be, and your dreams will start to become a very real part of your life.
2. Remove Negative Thoughts
Stop thinking about what will hold you back from your goal. Those things are out of your control anyways and there's nothing you can do about it. The more you make your defined goal a part of your daily life, the closer you will move towards success, and all those roadblocks will begin to fall away. When you start to think negatively, think hard about why you feel that way, go to your childhood if you like, and abolish it from the root. Your past is not what makes you who you are today, your decisions in the present do.
3. Focus on the Positive
When we focus all of our controlled energy on the things that help us stay positive, we see massive results in the form of success. This success can be achieved simply by the joy of pursuing your goal. An intelligent person knows that every moment in this life is precious, and should not be wasted by focusing on the negative. Instead focus on the things that you can do to create success for yourself and bring more positive into your life. Doing these things daily can change your life in a major way, and helps us rediscover what's actually important; friendship, compassion, and love.
4. Take A Risk
Nothing good comes without pay. In order to make better lives for ourselves, we have to be willing to pay up. It can be in the form of money, time, or effort, but will ultimately be a hefty price. Some of us aren't willing to go the extra mile and give all that is required to succeed. It's too risky, or would create too much trouble. They stay comfortable in "security". This is where most successful people are sorted out from the rest. To make your goal a reality, you must see every opportunity as a learning experience, and realize that the actual risk, is in not taking a chance and missing something great.
5. Quit Running Yourself Down
When we look at successful people, we only see the things that make them great. We see all their accomplishments, dreams and ambitions, and then wonder what it was that made them that way. We see nothing mediocre or less than ordinary about them, and that's for a reason. A successful person doesn't let any bad ideas of themselves or negative self-esteem enter their lives. Make your life full of good things and good people. Once you can fully love yourself, others will begin to love you as well.
6. Change the Image of Yourself
What are the daily activities of the person living your dream life? How do they act around their friends and family, and what are they known for? Think about what that person would do to make them able to live that life, and do them every day. Change the way you see yourself, and the rest will follow. Hold the image of your true self to your heart, and let it mold who you are.
7. Act the Part of Who You Want to Be
Once you obtain your image, all that's left is acting the role. Write out daily actions that you can take, and let your dream future guide your life. At first it might seem unnatural, but discomfort is what lets us know that we are growing. If you have to, fake it until you make it, but eventually you'll realize that you've become that person living your dream life, and after all that work, you can finally sit back, and relax.
