Sometimes we beat ourselves up too hard for failing. We may think that it was the last shot, or that we can never be good enough. It seems like we're always holding grudges against ourselves for making a bad decision or not doing something better. Sadly, these negative thoughts are the ones that stick in our minds the longest. They get more power as you think of them, and only become the truth if you let them. The actual truth behind it is, if you were still left standing after you messed up, then you found something even more valuable than you were looking for; the experience.
It's time that we all start looking for more success in failure. In the words of Thomas Edison, "I did not fail 3000 times, but instead found 3000 ways a light bulb will not work. Success is almost in my grasp". How is it that we can see every failure as a defeat, when we still come out of it as a more experienced person? Whenever we attempt that unsuccessful mission next time, we will surely be ready for any challenge, and can easily overcome our inner doubts.
I take Edison's words to heart when I attempt to anything in my daily life. To me, most of the success comes from the ride along the way. Those are the things that can only be experienced once, and that make us who we are. Even if I come out the other side broke or left without anything to my name, I know I'll have the knowledge and self confidence that I found on my journey. And these are more important than any monetary or physical reward you can find. After all, our adventures in life are priceless.
